
Clinical Senior Lecturer in Prosthodontics at Queen Mary University of London, Dr Sami Bissasu is a Specialist in Prosthodontics with a passion for creating beautiful, functional, and long-lasting smiles. After graduating from Damascus University in 2003, he completed a Master’s degree in Fixed Prosthodontics in 2008 and went on to achieve a PhD in 2015. In 2023, he successfully attained the Membership in Prosthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MPros RCSEd) and the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (MFDS RCSEng). He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Implantology (Tipton Training), expanding his expertise to include implant-based restorations. With more than 20 years of private practice experience, Dr Bissasu provides high-quality, patient-centred dental care tailored to individual needs. His expertise includes full-mouth rehabilitation, implants, complex aesthetic cases, and minimally invasive dentistry. He has advanced skills in veneers, all-ceramic restorations, resin-bonded bridges, and removable prosthodontics. Alongside his clinical work, Dr Bissasu has held university teaching positions in the UK for over 9 years, training undergraduate and postgraduate students in Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry. As a Member of the Examiner Panel for the Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) with the Royal Colleges of Surgeons, Dr Bissasu plays an active role in maintaining high professional standards in UK dental education and assessment. Known for his meticulous attention to detail and calm, caring approach, Dr Bissasu is committed to delivering the highest standards of restorative and cosmetic dentistry using the latest techniques and evidence-based care. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his interests in running and hiking.
